TAFFY

An amateur musician and composer.

MUSIC COMMISSIONS
Starting at $30 USD, for an original 32-bar composition, up to 4 parts, SATB-style.
This is a three-step process.
-Step 1: What do you want?
-Step 2: I get to work
-Step 3: Wrapping it up
WHAT YOU GET
Your piece will be composed and created in FL Studio Producer Edition, with most free plugins. You will receive an MP3 file of the track (looped as needed), along with the .MIDI for personal use.
-Don't be shy or feel restricted when it comes to a particular genre or style - I'll do my best to get it just right for you. Any lyrics or vocal samples will be your responsibility to provide.-You can be as selective as you like regarding the key, BPM, and time signature. For example, if you want your song to be composed in A# Major in cut time at exactly 137 BPM, we can make that happen.-Traditional sheet music can be provided on request, once the piece has been finalized.-If your request explicitly requires the use of an additional plugin, the price of that plugin will be added to your commission. I don't see this coming up, but I wanted it to be stated Just In Case.HOW WE'LL DO ITSTEP 1: What do you want?
I find my best work comes from directly speaking with the person requesting it. With that in mind, the ideal scenario is as follows:
We'll open up a voice chat (preferably on Discord, for convenience) and talk for a while about your piece, what context you'll play it in, et cetera. This chat can be one-on-one, or you can have a friend along. I know it can help some folks, especially those with anxiety and/or communication difficulties. If you have specific examples of what you'd like it to sound like, please provide them during the call!If your piece is meant to be a character's theme, you'll tell me about that character and I'll take notes. It helps to know who they are, what they're about, even where you intend for them to go during your story. At any point during our chat, you can provide any audio samples and images you like, so long as they're relevant to the piece.Once both parties feel confident that your intent has been sufficiently communicated, we'll end the chat. At that time, I'll request your payment up front, and once it clears I'll begin work on your composition, using any resources and notes we accumulated during that time.STEP 2: I get to work.
For the next 24 hours, my primary focus will be working on the first draft of your piece, so if there's any additional information you may have forgotten during our chat, this is the time to provide it.
After the initial 24-hour period, I'll send you a short MP3 of the first draft with simplified instruments, for review. Starting at that time, you'll have another 72 hours to provide any additional notes and request whatever changes seem appropriate. Sometimes things need tweaked, and that's okay!Once I've made your requested adjustments, I'll send you a similar audio file of them, UP TO THREE TIMES, so be very specific with your requests.STEP 3: Wrapping it up.
At this stage, we should have something you're pretty happy with. I'll send you the completed files for your final review, and if everything is to your liking, we can consider it a successful transaction. If, for some reason, you find that you really actually hate what I've created, simply let me know, delete any files I've sent, and I'll refund your money the same day.
Please be very honest about this part. If I find you've used or even distributed any of these files after your money is refunded, I won't be shy about making that information public.FURTHER DETAILSIn addition to the base 32-bar composition, you can request a longer piece for a small price increase, at a rate of $5 USD per 8 additional bars, repeatable as many times as you'd like. Of course, with a longer composition, I'll need extra time to work on it, so the above stated times will be adjusted as necessary.I reserve the right to upload all commissioned music to my personal channels, where they'll be marked appropriately. This will allow me to expand my portfolio, as well as provide examples for other potential commissioners. If you have a particular date and time in mind for when you'll be debuting your piece (such as a weekly tabletop session or birthday), let me know up-front so I can time these uploads appropriately.Since you're paying for the music, you may use it in almost any context you please. This includes use of the piece as part of a commercial work (such as a video game or animation), but does not include selling it on its own for any reason or passing it off as your own work. These terms are for individual pieces only. If, for some reason, you wish to retain my composition services for a meatier project (video game, short film, EP, etc.), please contact me directly and we can negotiate those terms.
